Traditionally, Himachal Pradesh was known primarily as a summer destination. However, the Department of Tourism and Civil Aviation has made significant efforts to break this seasonal pattern and has developed a variety of tourism products to attract visitors throughout the year. Today, Himachal is recognized as "A Destination for All Seasons and All Reasons." In fact, the Department has placed special emphasis on promoting adventure-based tourism and exploring new sub-destinations within the state. To encourage tourism in rural and lesser-known areas, appropriate infrastructure is being developed with the available resources, ensuring that these regions become more accessible and appealing to travelers.
